Sacred Heart College - Mission House Rebuild
The Mission House has long held special significance at Sacred Heart College. When the original building could no longer meet the College’s needs, the Trust Board engaged Ruruku to lead the delivery of a new facility — one that honoured the spirit of the past while supporting the needs of today’s students.
As Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor, we worked closely with the school, the Trust Board, and the wider consultant team to manage design, procurement, and construction. The project involved careful planning within an active school environment and frequent engagement with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with the College’s vision.
The new building features large engineered timber structural elements, combining strength, sustainability, and architectural elegance. It now serves as a welcoming space for student services, pastoral care, and reflection — and has already been recognised with a Wellington Architecture award for its design excellence.
The result is a calm, resilient, and meaningful facility that reflects Sacred Heart’s values and will serve the community for decades to come.
